Five collections of poetry, including The Place of Miracles: New and Selected Poems,  New Island Books 2006.

Three with Salmon Publishing, and one with Lapwing Publications, Belfast. Reading the Sunflowers in September (1990), was nominated for an Irish Times Literature Award; Spiderwoman's Third Avenue Rhapsody was also nominated for an Irish Times Literature Award in 1993, and Unlegendary Heroes appeared in 1998. Selections from her work have been translated into French, Rumanian, and more recently, Chinese. She has translated a selection of work by the Austrian poet Ingeborg Bachmann.

Her new collection of short stories, Storm Over Belfast is published in 2008 by New Island Books.

The Light-Makers Strong Pagans The Elysium Testament

Fiction includes the best-selling literary novel The Light-Makers, 1992 & 1993 (named The Sunday Tribune's Best New Irish Novel 1992); Virgin and the Boy, 1996 and a collection of short stories, Strong Pagans, 1991.
Her critically acclaimed third novel, The Elysium Testament, was published by Trident Press in the UK and Ireland last year.

Poems, essays and translations have appeared in literary magazines and journals such as Irish Studies Review, Poetry Ireland Review, The Honest Ulsterman, WP Journal, Krino, Irish University Review, Cork Literary Review, The SHOp, TriQuarterly (Florida), The Seneca Review, The Literary Review (NJ), Solo (CA), Artlife (CA) Oxford Poetry (UK), Poetry Review (UK), Orbis (UK), The Whoseday Book, The Great Book of Ireland.
